Grupo
Automotive Industry 4.0 Solutions
FZ has a longstanding relationship with CG Automation & Fixture, providing Industry 4.0 solutions on the plant floor. Our team has partnered with Grupo on the design, build, and installation of equipment in multiple locations. For Grupo Antolin, our Industrial Tech team partnered with CG to get 24 machines up and running in Shelby Township, MI. The facility supplies Chrysler’s Sterling Heights Assembly Plant with interior car door parts for new vehicle production.
Our team provided design, fabrication, assembly, installation, and general troubleshooting assistance for 24 machines and stations. The diverse scope of work included programming and debugging pre-assembly line cameras and all aspects of the final weld machine. This particular machine controls two welding stations with up to 52 Telsonic sonic welder heads per station, plus a robotic clip installer. Our team adhered to an extremely rigorous schedule while working around other trades during construction.
When Grupo’s proprietary manufacturing execution system (MES), Blade, was not interacting properly with the facility’s machines, our team used a custom FZ software solution to create a new system that tracks parts and stores weld point
and screw torque data. While the system was under development, FZ discovered a flaw in their labeling system where multiple parts were labeled with the same serial number. Without FZ’s innovation, this flaw would have been undetected and resulted in Chrysler rejecting the parts altogether.
