The new Corewell Health Grand Rapids Outpatient Center is a 12-story facility dedicated to providing best-in-class patient care services for West Michigan. This state-of-the-art facility is designed to seamlessly house multiple services under one roof including a heart and lung transplant center, residency clinics, a heart, vascular, and neurosciences clinic, and a simulation center.

As a long-term low voltage partner, Feyen Zylstra provided the complete low voltage cabling package for the project, ensuring seamless integration and functionality of various systems throughout the building. Our scope of work included pulling over 325,000 feet of network cabling for the cameras and network, installing over 2,400 network cabling jacks, and providing the fiber optic backbone cabling. Our team also installed cabling throughout the building to support the nurse call system, ensuring efficient communication and response times. Additionally, over 350,000 feet of Cat 6 cabling, 85,000 feet of Cat 6A cabling, and 390 wireless access points were installed. To enhance security and access control, 250 card readers, 135 security cameras, and 55 duress buttons were installed throughout the facility. We also constructed the Main Distribution Frame (MDF) and Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) closets, which serve as central hubs for the facility’s network infrastructure.

To meet the demanding project schedule and avoid any costly material delays, we pre-purchased much of the project materials upfront. This proactive approach ensured that the team could maintain progress and deliver the project on time.
