The new Corewell Health Place will serve as the central hub for thousands of Corewell Health’s support and administrative staff. Nestled between existing Corewell Healthcare buildings on Michigan Street in Grand Rapids, MI, Corewell Health Place is a 300,000 square foot office space that includes an eight-story office building, two new parking garages, and a two-level bridge.

As a trusted, long-term low voltage partner with Corewell Health, Feyen Zylstra was chosen to provide the comprehensive low voltage cabling package for this project. Our scope of work included the installation of network cabling for cameras and network systems, security cabling solutions, and the deployment of fiber optic backbone cabling.

Our team also installed 1,300+ network cabling jacks, 90+ camera locations, and 105+ wireless access points throughout the facility and parking garage. Additionally, our team pulled over 220,000 feet of Cat 6A cabling, installed 35 duress buttons, and constructed IT closets on every floor. In the parking garage, we installed security cameras, a gate entry system, and card readers.

Although we worked directly for Corewell Health on this project, our team collaborated closely with Rockford Construction and their trade partners to coordinate our material staging and storage needs, meet the demanding project schedule, and ensure a smooth installation. Despite
facing an expedited and rapid schedule, we successfully completed our work by utilizing overtime and deploying an extra crew during different project phases.
