Dow Kokam

Feyen Zylstra’s work included installing primary power, building management, fire alarm, communication cabling, power and lighting distribution, outdoor cameras, and card access.  This 400,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility is a high-tech, world-scale manufacturing facility capable of producing lithium-ion batteries to supply the growing electric vehicle (EV) and hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) market. The manufacturing facility enables the company to bring to market the most reliable and consistent energy solutions for its customers.

The Dow Kokam battery plant project was developed in two overlapping construction phases. Phase I of construction featured more than 400,000 square feet of space and provided industrial manufacturing operations with 45 foot clear heights and clean-dry rooms to facilitate unique manufacturing processes. Phase II added 600 million additional watt-hours and incorporated battery pack assembly equipment and production. The manufacturing facility development was built with insulated tilt-up concrete wall systems and features glass exterior design elements.
