A cooperative of local turkey farmers, Michigan Turkey Producers is dedicated to producing and distributing quality turkey meat. Since 2000, Feyen Zylstra has been a trusted partner in this mission by providing electrical work on both of their production plants, as well as staffing an FZ electrician on their night shift.
In 2006, Michigan Turkey Producers purchased the former Van Eerden Distribution Co. building on Hall Street in Grand Rapids and renovated it into an advanced turkey processing plant. FZ designed and installed the power and lighting systems to meet strict USDA regulations, while also increasing existing service to handle the additional refrigeration load as required by processing standards. In addition, FZ provided electrical work on the impingement oven, engine room, and lighting upgrades. At their Chicago Drive harvesting plant, FZ tackled multiple projects, including both a process and freezer addition, and engine room.
Throughout FZ’s extensive history as a food processing electrical services partner with Michigan Turkey, we’ve navigated planned shutdowns to retain maximum cost efficiency and productivity plantwide, while providing an exceptional customer experience.
