Williamsburg County Emergency Operations Center
South Carolina Emergency Power Solutions
The Williamsburg County Emergency Operations Center provides emergency assistance to local citizens in the event of a disaster. For this reason, ensuring that there is consistent, reliable power in the case of an outage or disaster is of the upmost importance.
Recently the Williamsburg County EOC was awarded a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grant that provides funds for pre and post emergency or disaster related projects. The Williamsburg County EOC used the available funds to strengthen and update their backup emergency power system.
Our team installed one 500Kw generator at the county’s Public Service Administration Building. This facility houses the database system that supports all of the county’s faculties including the sheriff office, detention center, fire, ems, etc. Our team also installed two 250Kw generators within the Emergency Operations Center. We also installed transfer switches outside of the facility to interrupt the main utility feeders. Our team dug up the utility to interrupt, disconnect, and then reconnect power over the course of three planned, weekend-long shutdowns. Throughout the project our team worked around logistical challenges to keep critical process, like police radios and process, fully operational.
