We are proud to share that Eliud Benavidez, Superintendent at Feyen Zylstra, has been named a 2025 Craft Professional of the Year (CPOY) finalist by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Western Michigan Chapter.
ABC, a national construction trade association, annually recognizes outstanding craft professionals who exemplify excellence in their craft. Nominees are selected for their technical expertise, leadership, commitment to safety, and passion for the skilled trades; all qualities Eliud demonstrates every day. This recognition is especially meaningful as the construction industry continues to face a nationwide shortage of skilled tradespeople.
Widely respected for his grit, precision, and calm under pressure, Eliud is known for his expertise in complex medium voltage work, where his attention to detail and commitment to safety shine. As a trusted leader and mentor, he embodies the Merit Shop Philosophy by fostering growth, collaboration, and excellence within his team—always leading by example and paying forward the guidance he received.
“Eliud has consistently demonstrated reliability, trustworthiness, and skill as a leader at FZ. His technical know-how and problem-solving skills have been key to our service team's success”, says Dave Moore, Electrical Services Group Leader. “Eliud's ability to be trusted with complex tasks has earned him the trust and respect of both our team and our customers.”
The West Michigan CPOY award winner will be announced live at the Excellence in Construction Awards on Thursday, Sept. 18th at GLC Live at 20 Monroe. The other finalists are XXX from XXX and XXX from XXX.
