Globe Apartments
This historic seven-story structure was constructed from 1903 to 1928. Over the years, it’s housed everything from the Globe Knitting to retail, office, warehouse, and light manufacturing spaces. FZ was presented with the challenge of converting this former industrial space into an attractive 110 unit residential apartment building, while at the same time, adhering to historic preservation regulations.
FZ provided all of the electrical installation for this project. Design elements, such as a large indoor central courtyard with bright skylights, gave the building a warm and inviting feel. Exposed HVAC ductwork and existing wood beams were tastefully used to retain the historic feel of the building and enhance the open design concept throughout the space.
