As a leading dairy cooperative, Michigan Milk Producers Association continues to invest in expanding its processing capabilities to meet growing demand. When it came time to transform an existing facility into a high-end, 70,000-square-foot cottage cheese production plant, the project required a reliable electrical partner capable of delivering both power infrastructure and process controls under an aggressive schedule. Partnering with Dan Vos Construction, Feyen Zylstra was brought in to help support the project from early coordination through execution.
Working alongside Dan Vos Construction, our team played a key role in converting the existing space into a modern production environment capable of processing up to 1 million pounds of milk per day at peak capacity. Our team provided the electrical power distribution and process controls necessary to support the new facility, ensuring that systems were aligned with the performance, safety, and quality demands of large-scale food processing.
The project required a high level of coordination across multiple trades, particularly as installation activities progressed simultaneously throughout the facility. From power distribution to controls integration, our team worked directly with the owner and engineers to navigate evolving project needs and solve challenges in real time. Drawing on our experience, we provided the expertise needed to keep the project moving forward while maintaining alignment with design intent and operational goals. In addition, our Service team supported process controls efforts, helping ensure systems were fully operational and ready for production.
Early on, the project schedule presented a significant challenge for all involved. Through proactive communication, detailed planning, and close collaboration with trade partners, our team maintained steady progress and kept the project on track. What initially felt like an aggressive and intimidating timeline was successfully managed through coordination, experience, and a commitment to doing the job right.
Through this coordinated approach, Feyen Zylstra helped deliver a facility that supports increased product quality, improved operational safety, and reliable production performance. Despite complex coordination demands and an accelerated schedule, our team successfully completed the project on time—providing Michigan Milk Producers Association with a dependable foundation for continued growth.
