The new Kentwood Community Center was developed to create a central gathering place for residents to stay active, connect, and build community. The 67,500-square-foot facility features a gymnasium, golf simulator, fitness studios, childcare spaces, and flexible meeting and reception areas designed to accommodate everything from community events to weddings.

Feyen Zylstra (FZ) delivered complete electrical installation to support the facility’s broad range of operational needs. Our team installed power distribution, interior and exterior lighting, building controls, low voltage systems, fire alarm, access control, and security systems while ensuring the finished installation aligned with the project's high aesthetic standards. From the early underground infrastructure through final device installation, FZ provided the systems necessary to help the facility operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.

To improve installation efficiency, the project utilized rough-in-ready prefabrication solutions, including prefabricated electrical boxes and MC cable assemblies. FZ’s Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) team also used technology to support underground layout work, lighting placement, and coordination within the fitness studio ceiling spaces.

FZ worked closely alongside Triangle Construction and other trade partners to ensure equipment, devices, and infrastructure were installed exactly as designed. With numerous building systems sharing common spaces and architectural features, proactive communication and careful planning were essential from start to finish.

The new facility features exposed electrical infrastructure throughout many areas, making craftsmanship and attention to detail especially important. FZ took great care to route conduit as discreetly as possible and ensure that exposed installations met FZ’s standards for alignment, consistency, and overall appearance.
