Northwood University promotes the development of future leaders in a global, free-enterprise society. Feyen Zylstra was happy to aid in this mission by providing the new primary, lighting, and emergency power for their new School of Business. This 30,000 square foot facility spans two floors and offers classrooms and collaboration spaces for students, as well as individual offices for professors and administrative staff. Our scope of work also included installing the lighting controls, data, fire alarm installation for the facility.

FZ’s ability to be heavily involved early on in the project allowed for design changes and project suggestions to be made prior to construction taking place. This ultimately helped keep the project on budget throughout the preconstruction and construction phases. The project also used an Under Floor Air Distribution, which presented the team with a unique opportunity to coordinate with the other trades early on to save time and increase field efficiencies. Our ability to prefabricate the wall rough-ins in our off-site electrical prefabrication facility also helped expedite the project’s schedule.
